Hands-On Demo at Gamescom 2025

Ubisoft’s upcoming trading card game Might & Magic: Fates will make its first public appearance at Gamescom 2025, offering attendees a playable demo from August 20 to 24 in Cologne, Germany. The booth will feature game stations allowing visitors to try the game and engage in head-to-head card battles. This marks the only opportunity to play the game so far, as no closed beta has been announced.

Players visiting the Ubisoft booth will also be able to meet members of the development team and access exclusive merchandise tied to the event.

Livestream to Showcase Gameplay for Global Audience

For those unable to attend Gamescom in person, Ubisoft has confirmed a livestream that will run during the event. The broadcast will include the first official gameplay footage of Might & Magic: Fates, as well as developer interviews, giveaways, and additional reveals. This digital event is aimed at providing broader access to the game’s debut and giving fans a deeper understanding of the mechanics and design direction.

Early Card Reveals and Character Introductions

In the lead-up to Gamescom, Might & Magic: Fates has already begun revealing in-game cards and character artwork. One of the most notable early cards is The Titan, described as:

The Titan card offers a glimpse into the world-building and faction-based lore that appears to underpin the game’s structure.

Additional card art previews have introduced a variety of characters from across the Might & Magic universe, including the Helexian Librarian, The Rakshasa Skirmisher, Hellfire Bloater and Anastasya. These early reveals suggest a diverse roster of units and heroes, possibly drawn from different factions or houses within the game’s setting.

More cards, artwork, and lore are expected to be featured during the Gamescom livestream and at the booth itself.

Blockchain Integration and the Immutable Partnership

While specific blockchain mechanics have not been fully detailed, Might & Magic: Fates is being developed in collaboration with Immutable, a platform known for Web3 gaming infrastructure. The partnership suggests that features such as digital ownership, trading, or asset interoperability may be included, although Ubisoft has so far focused its messaging on the core gameplay experience.

A New Direction for a Classic Franchise

Might & Magic: Fates represents both a return to the long-standing Might & Magic universe and a step into new territory for Ubisoft, combining traditional trading card gameplay with Web3 elements. Gamescom 2025 will serve as the first major checkpoint in the game’s development journey — offering fans and critics alike a chance to see how the project plays and where it may be headed next.
