The Sandbox has officially launched its Alpha Season 6, a nine-week event that introduces new experiences, rewards, and progression systems. The update is marked by several new features, including Cirque du Soleil-inspired content, a fresh collection of playable Avatars, and free NFT equipment for participants.
New Experiences: Cirque du Soleil Arrives in The Sandbox
This season, Cirque du Soleil makes its debut in The Sandbox, bringing the company’s signature theatrical style into the metaverse. Two interactive experiences are available, each highlighting new gameplay abilities such as Dash and Glide.
Players can unlock Cirque du Soleil–themed Mannequin Avatars that permanently transform into costume-inspired characters by completing in-game quests. These transformations grant Ethos Point bonuses, strengthening progression across the Battle Pass.
The redesigned Alpha Season 6 Hub also serves as the central entry point, featuring tutorial areas, social spaces, and partner pavilions with rewards tied to LAND ownership and community goals.
Playable Characters: Mannequin Avatars
Ten new Mannequin Avatars form the centerpiece of this season’s character lineup, ranging from Common to Legendary rarity. Each begins as a mannequin figure and can be transformed into a Cirque du Soleil costume avatar.
Unlike transformation-based collectibles in previous seasons, these Avatars remain fully playable both before and after their evolution. Transformation not only unlocks the visual change but also provides significant Ethos Point bonuses.
Examples include the Common “Explorer Clown,” Rare “Taxi Driver,” and Legendary “Statue of Liberty,” with rewards scaling based on rarity. Owning higher-tier Avatars also grants weekly passive EP bonuses throughout the season.
Free Equipment NFTs
Alongside premium rewards, Alpha Season 6 offers free progression benefits through its Battle Pass. Players can earn up to nine equipment NFTs without making a purchase, in addition to six SAND and one Memorabilia NFT.
Premium Pass holders gain access to additional rewards, including exclusive equipment sets, a Cirque du Soleil Mannequin Avatar, and entry to the 250,000 SAND prize pool via the new SAND Pool Key.
Alpha Season 6 is live from September 24 and will run for nine weeks. Players can participate by completing quests, collecting Avatars, and competing for leaderboard positions to secure both free and premium rewards.
