August 15 marks a major milestone for fantasy MMORPG RavenQuest as it debuts on the Epic Games Store alongside a free content expansion, Treasures Below. The update delivers a mix of competitive PvP, new archetypes and weapons, and replayable dungeon content.
Ranked 2v2 PvP Comes to RavenQuest
The expansion’s headline feature is the introduction of Ranked 2v2 Arenas—fast-paced, instanced battles with skill-based matchmaking and seasonal leaderboards. Players can enter either with a pre-formed duo or solo, in which case they’ll be automatically paired with another lone combatant.
Each Arena session consists of three consecutive rounds, with matchmaking handled by an MMR system reminiscent of Guild Wars. Arenas open three times per day, allowing up to three matches per session (nine matches, or 27 rounds, daily). Players can join up to 15 minutes before start time, and each match must be completed within 30 minutes.
Two New Archetypes, 60+ Classes
Treasures Below adds Ballistics and Naturalist archetypes to the game’s roster, unlocking over 60 new class combinations. Ballistics specializes in explosive, ranged firepower, while Naturalist offers a dual-role approach for adaptable builds. Together, they expand player freedom and tactical possibilities.
Expanded Arsenal: Pistols, Bracers & Blunderbuss
Three new weapon types—Pistols, Bracers, and the Blunderbuss—join the game, giving players more flexibility in shaping their combat style. These additions are designed to complement both new and existing classes, encouraging experimentation with builds and strategies.
Expeditions: Procedural Roguelike Dungeons
The new Expeditions mode sends players into procedurally generated dungeons packed with traps, puzzles, creatures, and boss encounters. Each run features escalating difficulty and a risk-reward loot system, offering variety and late-game progression. The unpredictable layouts aim to provide high replay value for solo players and groups alike.
Launch Bonuses for Early Players
To celebrate the launch, players who register now will receive 10 Ravenpacks (valued at around $20) as free gifts. Each pack contains five random RavenCards of varying rarities. RavenCards serve a dual purpose: they act as functional items that modify and enhance character abilities, and as collectible NFTs that can be traded or collected.
With competitive arenas, new customization options, and an endless-dungeon feature set, Treasures Below arrives as both a content-rich update for existing fans and a major entry point for newcomers via the Epic Games Store.
