Medieval Empires is an online strategy game set in 13th-century Anatolia, during a period marked by regional conflicts between Crusaders, Turkic tribes, and other emerging powers. The game initially focuses on the confrontation between Ertuğrul Gazi, leader of the Kayı tribe, and the English Crusaders under Edward Longshanks. Players begin in a small settlement and gradually expand their holdings by constructing towns, recruiting heroes, raising armies, trading, and engaging in both cooperative and competitive gameplay. The experience combines passive Player vs Environment (PvE) development with optional aggressive PvE and Player vs Player (PvP) encounters. Additionally, Medieval Empires integrates blockchain technology (Ethereum, Polygon) to record and secure ownership of optional digital assets earned or purchased by players, namely NFT assets (e.g. land, units) and cryptocurrency ($MEE).

Blockchain Integration
Medieval Empires aims to features a partially player-owned economy where players can effectively own and trade game-related digital assets (e.g. land, cosmetics, currency) inside and outside of the game using smart contracts built on the Ethereum blockchain (via Polygon and Immutable) to record and secure transactions and ownership of said assets. The game integrates its own cryptocurrency, $MEE, which mostly serves as a medium of exchange and reward token. Medieval Empires isn’t currently open source. While ownership of digital assets is decentralized and secured on the blockchain, users may not be able to run the game in the event that its online service is prematurely shut down.
